Xairos Systems, Inc. announced today the Board of Advisors consisting of timing, photonics, space, and business experts, who are applying their expertise to the commercialization of Xairos’ exclusive Quantum Time Transfer (QTT).
Xairos is providing alternate Position, Navigation and Timing (Alt-PNT) and enterprise timing using QTT in space, at a critical time when GPS is easily “spoofed” (falsifying the signal), “jammed” (blocking the signal), and at risk of catastrophic failure, which would mean economic losses of $1 billion per day in the U.S. and the U.K. alone.
Advising Xairos at this critical time are:
- Marc Weiss – Timing Advisor with a prominent career at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
Dr. Weiss received the National Bureau of Standards Applied Research Award for a first GPS timing receiver in 1983. He led the NIST program to support the GPS program office in developing their clocks and timing systems from 1980 until his retirement in 2014.
- Andrew Turner – International Business Advisor, Royal Air Force (ret.)
Andrew is an investor and advisor in emerging tech startup companies in novel fuel, quantum, space, defense and security businesses. After four decades in the Royal Air Force, he served as the principal U.K. officer in the White House and Pentagon, Director of U.K. Military Operations and most recently the RAF Deputy Chief and Chief Operating Officer.
- Adam Sturmer – Space and Business Strategy Advisor
Adam works with space companies to support their business objectives by managing program risk throughout the project lifecycle. He is currently Managing Director and Global Head of Business Development within a globally leading space insurance brokering company. He has worked with all types of space missions across satellite operators, manufacturers and launch service providers. Now based in London, Adam brings a strong international network to Xairos.
- Joseph Campagna – Photonics Advisor
Joseph Campagna is an aerospace veteran and entrepreneur, with current Top Secret SCI access. As co-founder and CEO of BridgeComm, he has deployed the world's first global space-to-ground free space optical laser network.
Joseph stated, “I am both excited and extremely honored to join the talented Xairos team as a strategic advisor. With many years of operational experience in RF and GPS-denied environments, coupled with more recent lasercom and DoD/IC systems, I see that Xairos is prime to address the Alt-PNT needs of the U.S. Government along with Commercial and the Rest of the World markets.”
“I am delighted to join the board of this amazing company, with great people, cutting-edge quantum technology and a world awaiting the precision resilient time that will secure the state,” Andrew noted.
David Mitlyng, Xairos CEO, stated, “Xairos is thrilled to have such an esteemed group of talented industry experts on our team. Each one brings an important perspective and enthusiasm towards our commercially viable quantum solution for Alt-PNT and enterprise timing.”
Adam Sturmer added, "It is an absolute pleasure to support Xairos at such an exciting phase of the company's growth. I have been fascinated with the technology and impressed with the team from the beginning. I am very keen to help Xairos realize their goals of providing secure and accurate PNT to the world at a time when it is needed the most."
About Xairos
Xairos is developing a global resilient space-based timing architecture using Quantum Time Transfer (QTT), a protocol invented, patented, and perfected by the Xairos team. For half a century, timing from GPS has been critical for the world’s transportation, networks, financial transactions, data centers, and power grids. At a critical moment when GPS is increasingly unreliable and vulnerable, Xairos is commercializing QTT to develop the next generation of Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT), with sub-nanosecond-level accuracy (1000 times better than GPS) and the security needed for future networks and applications.
